Poems, Notes, and Drawings is a collection of new work and old, a kind of living testament I’m trying to shape into a durable edition of what I feel are my best, most inspired efforts. While the project is subjective in nature, bearing aspects of a journal or diary, I hope to maintain the objective focus necessary to avoid the most common pitfalls of blogging and online publishing: instant gratification, self-absorption, and outright vanity. I’ve grappled with those beasts before, and while I don’t fall prey as often as I once did, I remain wary. And so I neither exaggerate nor pose when I say I do not pretend this website is, or that it should be, important to anyone but me. Making it available to the public simply reflects the joy I take in doing what I love. That feeling, I know is worth sharing.
