Poems, Notes, and Drawings

About

William Michaelian May 20, 2017

I’ve been at it for quite a while. My scribbles have resulted in a few books, some published, some not, some in translation, and mountains of words and drawings in print and online — more, really, than I could reliably remember or keep track of. Now, after several years of sifting and organizing, with no shortage of digression along the way, this website has, for the most part, remedied that. Essentially, it’s a collection of old work and new, a kind of living testament that consists of what I feel are my best, most inspired efforts, combined with journal entries, reading notes, and observations small enough, sometimes, to fit on the head of a pin.

Poems, Notes, and Drawings also reflects a growing emphasis on mindful living and the exploration of consciousness. There’s nothing more important to me. I want what I share to address the deepest questions and concerns of our existence, and to point, however feebly or well, to a fuller understanding of our true nature. This isn’t to suggest I’m an expert or authority. That I’m in earnest and mean well is, though, something I will stand by. And while in some cases you may have to imagine my smile, you can be sure it’s always there. In the end, all you really need to remember is that this isn’t work I’m doing, it’s play. It has nothing to do with cultivating a public image, or trying to gain a following. I learned long ago that there are no winners in the ego game. There never have been, and never will be.

In terms of organization, the extensive list of Tags & References found below can be used as an index, or as a springboard to random reading in various genres, subjects, and themes, including biographical. The list under Categories & Sources serves as a site map, gathering content from more than 2,000 pages by department or title. Recent Posts will catch you up in a hurry. Nota Bene sets the stage and provides handy places to jump in. The photographs and personal odds and ends are self-explanatory. However you approach it, casually or in depth, I hope you feel your time here is well spent. If you care to be in touch, I can be reached by email.

Thank you.
