Shared Faces

I love what I call shared faces — faces that blend and overlap in mutual understanding, compassion, and sympathy. I have drawn many such, without knowing how the first of them came about; it was, most definitely, not a matter of deliberation or intent. In other words, it just happened. And just as they exist in me, in the so-called “imaginary world,” they exist around me, in the so-called “real world.” Going a step further, it might be said that we all share one face, one general expression, which changes subtly through the ages, as our human knowledge and experience changes. Ultimately we are more alike than we are unalike, alike even in our multitude of surface differences. This is hardly a surprise, when we remember we are all of the same earth, the same universe, from which we will never be separated.
