NOTA BENE

Poems, Notes, and Drawings represents more than thirty years of artistic endeavor. The first 1,351 pages are devoted to the organization and preservation of what I feel are the best of my earlier writings and drawings. That begins here, and is followed by nine sections: Sweet Sleep and Bare Feet, a philosophical ramble that consists of new drawings and pieces, which begins here; A Few More Scratches, a further exploration of the daily ordinary, which begins here; a batch of diary entries collected under the title of Daybook, which begins here; Sour Honey, a collection of mostly very short poems, found here; If It Had A Name, a daily journal of general observations and notes on books and reading, found here; a collection of twelve letters, gathered under the name Infinite Intimate, the first of which can be found here; Someone Will Say, a collection of seven notes, or very short essays, which begins here; Annotations and Elucidations, which begins with an explanation on Page 1,952, and ends after a daily spree of seventy-four pages; and, most recently, This, the first entry in an occasional series of notes and essays on mindfulness, consciousness, and the art of being, found here. The About page has also been updated, and the Background and Perspective pages removed, having outlived their purpose.

Thanks for Everything

Whatever the trouble, whatever the challenge, whatever the grief, whatever the loss, whatever the seeming impossibility, I have found there is still one thing I can do, and that is, give thanks. And the blessing is, little by little, gratitude becomes a habit, an outlook, an abiding presence, a friend, and a guide. There is an old saying, but I have forgotten it. I give thanks for that too.
